Can the height increase be less than indicated?

The height increase figures that we show on our website equal the maximum height that can be gained wearing a particular model. So, when we say that a model increases 3.1 inches for instance, it means that you can grow as much as 3.1 inches compared to being barefoot. Most customers acknowledge the height increase figures, confirmed in numerous reviews and testimonials. However, several factors can cause the height increase to be less than indicated:

  • Production biases: every item produced is subject to slight biases so is/are the inner sole and/or the outer sole.
  • Sizing: larger sizes (like US size 8.5, 9, 9.5) offer more chance for the height increase to be optimal compared to smaller sizes (like US size 5.5, 6, 6.5).
  • Foot positioning: the inner sole is increasing and thus maximal in the rear of the shoes. Consequently, most height is achieved when the foot is well positioned in the rear of the shoes. If the shoes run too large, the foot might slide downwards and height increase will be less.
  • Body weight: body weight negatively affects height increase as the inner sole tends to shrink slightly with more body weight.

Concluding, the height increase figure stands for the maximum added height that can be reached. Does the height increase figure include the outer sole?

The height increase figures that show on our website are the sum of the inner sole and the outer sole. So, when we say that a model increases 2.4 inches for instance, it means that the inner sole and outer sole together make you as much as 2.4 inches taller compared to being barefoot.

Do I need to lengthen my trousers?

It depends. If the height increase is regular and your trousers have average length there would be no need to lengthen your trousers. On the other hand, if the height increase is significant (like +4 inches or more) and your trousers have less than average length, you will definitely need to consider buying a new pair of trousers. As a general remark, the legs of your trousers should have sufficient margin so that they nicely fall over the top end of the shoes. We recommend that you wear slightly longer trousers with larger legs otherwise they risk to unfashionably stay clung to the top end of the shoes. The invisible effect is optimized when trousers cover the end part of the shoes (where the shoe lifts up). Therefore, we do not recommend wearing Bugarri Shoes with shorts.

Are your shoes a good solution for people with different leg lengths?

Our shoes are designed specifically for people who want to be taller. We don’t customize shoes in view of people with different legs lengths, nor can we change the height increase of a particular model on request. All shoes are tailor made to offer a certain height increase. But… it is possible to remove the inner sole in one shoe to gain a height difference of approximately 1.2-1.6 inches compared to the other shoe. Note that the inner sole is fixed so you might need to use force to have it removed. Moreover, we cannot guarantee that walking comfort will be optimal. We don’t take responsibility in case removal of the inner sole causes inconvenience. And once you remove the inner sole, please bear in mind that the shoes might not be in an appropriate condition to return them in the event you are not satisfied. That said, our shoes might still be a good solution for people with different leg lengths.

Do I need to order a size other than I wear with traditional shoes?

We recommend ordering the same size than you wear with traditional shoes. Our shoes are produced according to industry standards so there is no need to consider ordering a smaller or larger size. Every shoe box contains free insoles that you can use in case the shoes run too large. You can easily return shoes according to our return policy (see page RETURNS) and re-order another size by means of the credit option. Note that the return shipment is free (except for remote locations) so after all you should not worry too much about ordering a wrong size.

How come my shoes make a squeaky sound?

Height increasing shoes are subject to the presence of air between the inner and outer sole. The insertion of air can happen during the production process. If so, you might notice a squeaky sound when walking from the first steps onwards. When the squeaking is bothering you, please do not hesitate to return the shoes according to our returns policy. The insertion of air between the inner and outer sole can also happen any time as the result of wearing the shoes. It is important to note that this does not concern a production error, but merely an unfortunate situation that can happen with any pair of height increasing shoes. The best advice we can give is to consult a local shoemaker in case the shoes have already been worn. Ask the shoemaker to have the inner sole removed and attached again using strong glue. We suggest that you keep the shoemaker’s store ticket and to email it to Bugarri Shoes within a reasonable time period. As a courtesy to you as a customer, we will be glad to refund your shoemaker’s costs. It is also possible to return the shoes to Bugarri Shoes under the pretext of premature deteroriation (see page RETURNS). However, the process of returning and shipping is both financially and timewise less opportune for both parties than consulting a local shoemaker.

Do your shoes create a security issue when travelling through airport controls?

You will not experience any security issues at airports. Scanners and X-ray controls do not detect anything wrong with our shoes.

Do you have a catalogue?

Regretfully we don't have a catalogue. As a paperless company, we believe that the internet offers a far more economical and environmental friendlier alternative to a printed catalogue. Moreover, the fast changing nature of our business, the different languages in which we operate, and the various new models that flow in on a continuous basis, do not make it worthwhile to print a catalogue. We continuously update and improve our website and consider it as our online catalogue that is up-to-date at any time.

Do you have a summer and winter collection?

Bugarri Shoes sells worldwide so we don’t think in terms of summer and winter collection. We try to present as many different styles as possible, some of them looking more summer others looking more winter. But when it comes to material composition, all our shoes are quite similar. We ensure that our shoes can be worn all year round. If you’re looking for extremely warm and isolated shoes for winter-use or extremely light and transpiring shoes for summer-use, then Bugarri Shoes is not the right place to buy.

Do you have a shoe shop where I can buy your shoes?

No, Bugarri Shoes only sells through the internet.

Do you have other items than the ones presented online?

Regretfully we don't have other models nor sizes nor colours available than those displayed on our website. The entire collection is presented online in accordance with all available sizes and colours. In other words, everything you see on our website is currently in stock and can be sold right away.

Can I buy the hidden increaser as a separate item?

Bugarri Shoes is an online shoe shop. The only thing we sell are shoes that make you look taller without anyone noticing the secret. We do not sell our hidden increaser as a separate item, nor do we sell any other kind of accessory related to our product.

My shoe size doesn't show for the model I'm interested in. Is it still available?

All available sizes show in the drop down menu. If your size does not show there, it is not available. We suggest that you use our search engine to look for all models available in your size. The search engine shows on top of every page. Select the size you are looking for and click on the search symbol. You can narrow down your search to gender and category.

Is it possible to change the height increase level of a particular model?

Regretfully it's not possible to change the height increase level of a particular model. Every model is designed in such a way to give space to a certain height increase.


Do you offer discounted models?

In addition to continuous promotions (like buy more pay less, 10 + 1 free, tell a friend and get discount), Bugarri Shoes offers regular discounts on various models. Check out for discounted models under our SALES and CLEARANCE sections. Here you may find discounted models up to 50% or more. When are my ordered shoes added to the 10+1 FREE count?

Ordered shoes are added to the 10+1 FREE count 30 days followed by order placement. This is to tide over the returns period. Shoes that are returned during the returns period are not added to the count.

Is it possible that the system does not count correctly (10+1 FREE)?

The system keeps track of the number of shoes bought less returned. It was tested excessively with great success. In other words, the chance of the system not counting correctly is extremely minor. Please take into account some situations that affect the counting process:

First of all, note that the system considers a purchased item after 30 days only. This is to tide over the return period. So, if you buy a pair of shoes today, it will be added to the counting after 30 days on the condition that it is not returned in the meanwhile.

Secondly, note that the promotion started January 15th, 2010. Purchases prior to this date are not considered. If you still possess postcards related to the old 5+1 promotion (prior to January 15th, 2010), please return them to Bugarri Shoes and they will be added as a number to the counting.

Thirdly, note that certain special discounts do not participate to the 10+1 free promotion. Please consider the fact that you might have purchased an item that was excluded from this promotion

Fourthly, an office representative might have updated the counting as the result of an item being out of stock or returned under the pretext of premature deterioration.

Fifthly, note that items returned by means of our return service are subtracted automatically from the counting.

Does the discount code for a free pair apply to any model (10+1 FREE)?

Once you are emailed a discount code for a free pair of Bugarri Shoes, you can select any model that you like up to a maximum of $150.

I bought 10 pairs but I did not get the discount code (10+1 FREE). How come?

Firstly, go to MY ACCOUNT > 10 + 1 FREE and make sure that you bought 10 pairs of shoes or more. Our system takes into account items returned, so please consider that returned items are subtracted. Secondly, make sure that you write one testimonial and ten reviews (one review for each pair purchased). You can write reviews and testimonials in your personal account (see tab REVIEWS and TESTIMONIALS). Thirdly, please consider that our system will only email you a discount code after 30 days followed by your last purchase. This is to allow the return period to lapse. Fourthly, don't forget to check your mailbox in your personal account (see tab MAIL). It happens that our emails end up in spam folders. The mailbox on our website serves as back-up in case you don't receive our email in your regular mailbox.

Several problems might apply, including but not limited to the following:

What is UPS Ground (Standard)?

With UPS Ground (Standard), packages are handled & shipped normally and travel by truck.

What is UPS Air (Express)?

With UPS Express, packages enjoy priority handling & shipping and travel mostly by airplane for long distance deliveries.

At what time does UPS deliver the package?

UPS generally delivers during office hours, so you might consider providing a business address as delivery address. Of course, you are free to put a residential address in the order forms. As long as someone is present to sign for receipt, there is no problem.

How long does it take for the shipment to arrive?

There are 4 time periods you need to consider:

Scheduled delivery time: When an office representative confirms your order, your order status changes and your UPS tracking number shows in your personal account. Additionally, you receive an email from UPS on behalf of Bugarri Shoes indicating scheduled delivery time.

Handling time: Scheduled delivery time does not include handling time. Handling time is the time needed for warehouse representatives to process your order, pick and pack your ordered shoes, and hand over your package to UPS. Maximum handling time equals 16 business hours for UPS Air (Express) packages and 24 business hours for UPS Ground (Standard) packages. Handling time does not include Friday afternoons, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Maximum delivery time: This is the sum of scheduled delivery time and maximum handling time. Your package is expected to arrive sometime between scheduled delivery time and maximum delivery time.

Rescheduled delivery time: Once the package is travelling within the UPS network, a rescheduled delivery time shows on UPS' website. Rescheduled delivery time takes into account handling time and any factors (exceptions) possibly delaying the shipment (like bad weather conditions, customs issues, remote delivery locations, public strikes, incorrect or incomplete address information, etc). Theoretically, rescheduled delivery time is the exact time that your package will be delivered on the condition that someone is present to sign for receipt. Rescheduled delivery time updates further after every delivery attempt failure or exception.

How come there is no tracking detail given on UPS' website?

As long as the package is not travelling within the UPS network there is no tracking detail shown on UPS' website. If no tracking detail shows after maximum delivery time (scheduled delivery time + maximum handling time), please contact us and we will check with the warehouse what is delaying the shipment. Please note that Friday afternoons, weekends and public holidays are not included in handling time.

Which factors can possibly delay my shipment?

The most important factors that can delay a shipment are:

  1. bad weather conditions (like snow, flooding, thunderstorm)
  2. customs issues (for non-US shipments)
  3. public strikes
  4. remote delivery locations
  5. incorrect or incomplete address information

If any of the first four factors apply, please excuse the inconvenience. These factors are totally out of our control and require patience. If the fifth factor applies, please go to the next question.


Can I make an address correction?

Bugarri Shoes is invoiced a $10 extra charge for any address correction. We close an eye on the extra charge if you take own action to inform UPS about an address correction or any other information required by UPS to have your package delivered. Go to www.ups.com, search for the customer service phone number, mention your tracking number to the UPS representative for shipment identification and provide all necessary information that UPS needs to know.

Does UPS deliver to neighbors?

UPS has the right to deliver to a third party (like neighbors, receptions, lobbies, caretakers, janitors, etc.) in case your given delivery name is not present to sign for receipt at the given delivery address. Third party delivery is a contractual stipulation in UPS' general conditions. We understand that our product asks for discretion and as much as we would want to avoid third pary delivery to protect our customers, the issue is completely out of our control. The only thing we can recommend is to track your order very closely and to make sure that your given delivery name is present to sign for receipt at (re)scheduled delivery time set by UPS.

What if the package could not be delivered?

UPS will try 3 times to have the package delivered. So, if you nobody was present to sign for receipt on the first delivery attempt, UPS will come back and make a second or third delivery attempt on a different working day. UPS will leave a message in your mailbox each time delivery failed. An email will also be sent to inform you about the delivery failure.

What happens if UPS returns my package?

Your ordered shoes are returned to Bugarri Shoes if UPS cannot deliver your package after 3 delivery attempts or as the result of incorrect/incomplete address information. Upon receipt of the return package, a credit equal to the value of the returned shoes is made to your personal account. Place a new order on our website and the credit processes automatically while checking out. An administrative fee of $20 applies to refund requests.

Do I need to pay import charges?

If your delivery address is outside the United States, you might be subject to payment of import charges. These are taxes imposed by your local authorities and completely out of our control. So, we cannot take any responsibility in case you receive an invoice from UPS asking you to pay import charges.

Am I insured against loss, theft and damage?

Yes, you are. If we receive a notification from UPS that your package was lost, stolen or damaged, we will send another package free of any charge and solve the problem internally with UPS. Insurance stops at the time the package is handed over to you.

Do I need to pay shipping costs?

Yes, you need to pay shipping costs for every order you place. Shipping costs depend on the zone the order must be shipped to, as follows:

Zone A - UPS Ground $10 | UPS Air $30

United States

Zone B - UPS Standard $20 | UPS Express $70


Zone C - UPS Air $50

Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico.

Can I pay cash on delivery?

We do not offer COD shipping. Every order needs to be fully paid before it leaves our warehouse.

Can my order be shipped by post?

No, orders are shipped exclusively through UPS. We do not provide a postal service.


Do I need to use your return service in case I just want to exchange with another size/model?

Yes, please return your order using our 5-steps return procedure (see MY ACCOUNT > RETURN SHOES), go for a full credit under step 3, and order again on our website using your credit.

Can I return shoes without using your 5-steps return procedure?

No, you are required to use our 5-steps return procedure. If the return form, generated during the last step, is not present, your return most probably will be refused.

When can I expect the credit?

First of all, please check if your return arrived at our warehouse using the tracking number of your return shipment. You can find the tracking number in your personal account (see tab RETURN SHOES). If your return arrived at our warehouse facility, please allow 24 business hours for warehouse people to process your return. Once your return is approved by a warehouse representative, a credit is added to your account and a confirmation is emailed to your given email address. The confirmation email can also be found in your personal account (see tab MAIL) along with the credit amount (see tab CREDIT & DISCOUNT). When you place a new order, the credit processes automatically while checking out.

Does the credit apply to shipping costs?

Please note that the credit only applies to the value of the shoes. Shipping costs always come as an additional charge even if the credit is larger than the value of the shoes ordered. In other words, you always need to pay shipping costs on every order you place irrespective of the credit amount. If the credit is larger than the value of the shoes ordered, the remaining amount stays on your personal account and will be used for the successive order.

Why has UPS not picked up my return package yet?

You are required to call UPS to arrange a pick-up date and time or to go to a UPS store to drop off your return package. This instruction is mentioned on the return form, which is a compulsory document for your return. UPS contact details vary from country to country. Please visit www.ups.com to find the customer service number that applies to your country.

What happens if a return is refused?

Refused returns are stored in our warehouse and remain unprocessed until a solution with the owner of the shoes is agreed on.

How do I apply for a money refund?

Return your ordered shoes using our 5-steps returns service (see MY ACCOUNT > RETURN SHOES). Upon receipt of your return shipment in our warehouse, a credit is put on your personal account provided all return conditions are fulfilled. The credit reflects the value of the returned shoes and can be used to exchange the shoes with another model and/or size. It processes automatically when placing a new order. It does not have an expiry date, so it is valid lifetime. Once the credit shows in your personal account you can apply for a refund. Go to MY ACCOUNT > CREDIT & DISCOUNT and follow all instructions provided. Note that an administration cost of $20 applies.

Can I return my shoes after 30 days upon receipt of my order?

No, you are required to return your shoes within 30 days upon receipt of your order, unless your shoes show signs of premature deterioration (see next question).

My shoes show signs of premature deterioration. Can I return them?

First of all we apologize in case your shoes show signs of premature deterioration or damage. We guarantee a high quality of our shoes which doesn't exclude the possibility that something goes wrong when wearing them. Kindly follow the below procedure to return shoes showing signs of premature deterioration.

As a start we require you to consult a local shoemaker. Many signs of premature deterioration and/or damage can easily and cheaply be fixed by a local shoemaker avoiding unnecessary return and shipping costs. We will be happy to refund your shoemaker costs. Simply forward the store ticket to us and we will proceed with refunding.

If your shoemaker is unable to repair the shoes you are free to return them to us. You are responsible for the return, so you can choose any courier service you like to return your shoes. Your shipping costs will not be refunded. You are required to include a note explaining the nature of the problem. Upon receipt of your return we will try to repair the shoes ourselves. Repaired shoes will be shipped back to you free of any charge.

If we are unable to repair the shoes, you will be granted a refund according to the following schedule: 100% refund after one month of order placement, 90% refund after two months of order placement, 80% refund after three months of order placement, 70% refund after three months of order placement, etc. Refunds are converted into a discount. The discount will show in your personal account and can be used for any future order you place on our website. Upon granting a discount, we obtain ownership of your shoes.

A return form is not required for this type of return.

Unfortunately we do not offer a telephone service. We believe that every question, problem or inquiry can be handled via email. We offer a fully integrated email system which outweighs a telephone service. You can contact us by filling out our contact form, view our reply and send email to Bugarri Shoes via your personal account.
